Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(1 Chronicles 13 & 14)
“A Good Thing Done a Wrong Way”
Text: 1 Chronicles 13:9-10
“And when they came to Chidon’s threshing floor, Uzza put out his hand to hold the ark, for the oxen stumbled.
Then the anger of the LORD was aroused against Uzza, and He struck him because he put his hand to the ark; and he died there before God.
“A Good Thing Done a Wrong Way,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
King David wanted to bring the Ark of the Covenant into Jerusalem to be the Centerpiece of Israel and this was a Good Thing.
The Ark represented the Presence of God so it was to be treated as Holy and only handled by the priests, carried on their shoulders with rods through the rings on the side of the Ark - no one was to touch it because it was Holy.
When unholy touches Holy, uncommon dies immediately!
That’s what happened to Uzza.
King David did a Good Thing but he did it the Wrong Way; because he didn’t talk to God about how to do this good thing. He talked to others but he didn’t talk to the High Priest - and the High Priest didn’t Advise King David on how the Ark should be handled!
Sometimes people do a good thing the wrong way; because they don’t acknowledge God in their plans. That’s why He tells you and I to:
“Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart
And lean not unto your own understanding
In ALL your ways - Acknowledge Him
AND HE WILL DIRECT YOUR WAY!” (Prov.3:5-6).
When the Warrior does Good Things the Right Way (under God’s direction),
People will see these Good Works and Glorify our Father in Heaven!
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”(Matt.5:16).
Warrior at your side,
Jesus and Billy
