Good Morning Warrior!
It’s The Lord’s Day Hallelujah!
Word for the Day:
“Our Kinsman Redeemer”
Text: Leviticus 25:47-48
“Now if a sojourner or stranger close to you becomes rich, and one of your brethren who dwells by him becomes poor, and sells himself to the stranger or sojourner close to you, or to a member of the stranger’s family,
after he is sold he may be redeemed again. One of his brothers may redeem him;”
“Our Kinsman Redeemer,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning. Oh what a picture this is of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! The ‘Sojourner and Stranger’ in our life is the devil and his crew; and you and were “sold to this stranger,” by Adam through his sin of disobedience.
Aaaaah, but Our Kinsman Redeemer, the “Seed of the woman,” was already there in the Garden (Gen.3:15); to crush the head and power of this ‘stranger.’
Our Commander Jesus Christ became like us in every way, yet without sin:
“Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,
and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
For indeed He does not give aid to angels, but He does give aid to the seed of Abraham.
Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.” Heb.2:14-17).
To qualify as a Kinsman Redeemer, one had to be the nearest of kin to the one who was being redeemed; “a blood relative.”
No one is more close to you and I than Jesus; we were born of His blood, born of the Spirit. (John 3:6).
So what are the three requirements of the Kinsman Redeemer?
To redeem a family member sold into slavery.
To redeem the family inheritance that had been sold outside the family.
To avenge the murder of a member of the family.
Our Commander did all of these requirements perfectly!
As Son of Man, His sinless life and innocent blood on the cross paid our sin debt; and Redeemed you and I from the bondage and slavery of sin!
He Redeemed “the Family Inheritance,” of mankind as God’s Creation; that had “been sold outside the family,” by Adam’s sin.
And lastly, Our Kinsman Redeemer “avenged the murder of the soul of every member of the family” of mankind; by crushing the head and power of the devil on the Cross! Oooh Rah!
This is Our Kinsman Redeemer; our Hero, Our God, and Our Commander and King Forever! Ooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
