Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(Numbers 9:1 - 10:10)
“Rehearsing The Gift of God”
Text: Numbers 9:5
“And they kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month, at twilight, in the Wilderness of Sinai; according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did.”
“Rehearsing the Gift of God,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
The Passover was meant to be a reminder of God’s “Passing Over” Israel in His judgement of the first born of the Egyptians. The angel of death passed over the houses that had the blood of an innocent lamb on the top and sides of the door. This symbolized the blood of Jesus Christ, our Passover Lamb; the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world (John1:29). The blood on the top and sides of the door was a picture of the cross that Jesus would be crucified upon. His life given to pay for our sin.
Israel was given this rite of Passover to be observed each year on the 14th day of the first month - to remember and rehearse The Gift of God that was given to them in Egypt.
As Warriors on this side of the cross we have been given the Ordinance of Holy Communion to remember the fulfillment of Passover by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He IS our Passover!(1Corin.5:7)
We don’t celebrate Holy Communion once each year, we celebrate it OFTEN, to Remember and Rehearse “The Gift of God” that was given for you and I. In other words Our Passover is The Gift of God that was given for you and I to be forgiven from sin and restored to God as a son and a daughter.
Jesus told the woman at the well “... If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” (John 4:10).
When we celebrate Holy Communion, we remember the Body that was broken and the Blood that was shed for you and I.
“For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread;
and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”
In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”
For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.”(1Corin.11:23-26).
As often as we partake of Holy Communion We Are Rehearsing The Gift Of God; Our First Love and Only True Love who demonstrated His Love for you and I.
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”(Rom.5:8).
Oh Warrior, let us partake of Holy Communion often; so we will Remember and Rehearse The Gift of God and our One True Love; our Commander Jesus Christ! Oooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
