Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“A Gift to receive a Trust to keep”
Text: Numbers 18:7
“Therefore you and your sons with you shall attend to your priesthood for everything at the altar and behind the veil; and you shall serve. I give your priesthood to you as a gift for service, but the outsider who comes near shall be put to death.”
“A Gift to receive and a Trust to keep,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
The Priesthood was a Gift to be received by Aaron and his sons. It was also a Trust to serve God and His people by doing the work of the altar and the work behind the veil.
This is the picture of what our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has given to you and I as a royal priesthood (1Pet.2:9); a Gift to receive and a Trust to keep.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
not of works, lest anyone should boast.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”(Eph.2:8-10).
Our Salvation and priesthood is not something we earned it’s a Gift we receive “by grace through faith.”
It’s also a Trust to keep, as His workmanship or handicraft, walking in “the good works” of service He has prepared for you and I to walk in.
We are to be His Ambassadors representing Him and Messengers delivering His message of the Gospel. This is our ministry of reconciliation!
“Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,
that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”(2Corin.5:18-21)
Our service as Ambassadors and Messengers is performed in the Life we Live; Loving God more than anyone and everything else, and Trusting and Obeying Him.
Holy Spirit helps us to keep this Trust. Our Salvation is a Gift to be received and a Trust to be kept; so that others may receive this Gift and keep this Trust! Oooooh Rah!
