Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“A Passion For God’s Will”
Text: Joshua 9:14
“Then the men of Israel took some of their provisions; but they did not ask counsel of the LORD.”
Having “A Passion For God’s Will,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning. The more we know God the more we learn that His Will is Always the Best for us. Our Passion for God’s Will in our life grows! In decisions, He is the One we consider; because we Know from experience that His Advice is Perfect All The Time.
I’m sure Joshua knew this from his experience with his Commander in Egypt, the Wilderness, and now in Canaan. Yet even when we know that God’s Will is Perfect for us - We Still Have To Ask! Why didn’t Joshua “ask counsel of the Lord?”
Perhaps like many of us, after a great victory, the emotional thrill of victory clouded his judgment. Our Physical Eyes can be easily deceived as Joshua was. Yet, our Spiritual Eyes unveil the Truth, by exposing the lie, when we “ask counsel of the Lord.”
Our Lesson from this is to Passionately Pursue The Will of God in every area of our life! When we practice this Passion we will Ask our Commander. He is already working in our heart both to Will (to desire His Will) And to Do (empower us to Do His Will); but we must Ask! “for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” (Phil.2:13).
Our Commander Jesus Christ is the Perfect Model for us, as He told His disciples: “Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.” (John 4:34).
May our “food” be to Do the Will of God and to Finish His Work - His Plan of Good Works that He has prepared for us to walk in. (Eph.2:10). Our Love for our Commander will also fuel “A Passion For His Will!” Oooh Rah!
