Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“A Place To Worship”
Text: Deut. 12:5
“But you shall seek the place where the LORD your God chooses, out of all your tribes, to put His name for His dwelling place; and there you shall go.”
“A Place to Worship,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning’s . Worshipping Our Commander Almighty God is a vital part of the Warrior’s Life! We Worship God both individually and corporately.
In the wilderness Israel worshipped God individually in their tent, and corporately at the Tabernacle maintained by the Levites and the Priests. Before settling Israel in their Promised Land, God is instructing Israel on seeking A Place To Worship from within their tribe. The Central Place of corporate worship was being ‘distributed’ among each tribe. Notice He says “seek the place Where The Lord Your God Chooses”(emphasis added). Israel is to seek “God’s Choice” of where to Worship God.
Part of settling Israel was to have a place of worship to God from within each tribe; and each tribe was to seek God’s Choice for that place. They undoubtedly sought that place with the help of the Levitical Priesthood.
For us, Our Commander Jesus has prepared for us a Place To Worship Him individually, as true worshippers of the Father in spirit and in truth (John 4:21-24); from any place we may be; since our our body is His Temple where He lives within us. (1Corin.6:9).
He also has ‘chosen’ a Place for us to Worship Him ‘corporately,’ the Local Church:
“And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” (Matt.16:18) The Local Church is a community of Believers in Jesus Christ, bonded together as a ‘Body with many members,’ functioning like a human body (1Corin.12:20). God chooses a Local Church For His Warriors to serve and grow within, and to corporately engage our spiritual enemies together as a Body.
If a Warrior doesn’t belong to a Local Church they need to be seeking God’s Choice for a Local Church to belong to. We are commanded to serve, grow, and blossom in fruitful ministry within a local church:
“And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,
not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Heb.10:24-25).
Listen up Warrior! Your Place of Worship individually and corporately is vital to your effectiveness as a Warrior - and crucial to the success of your Principal Mission:
