Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“A Servant For Life”
Text: Exodus 21:5-6
“But if the servant plainly says, ‘I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free,’
then his master shall bring him to the judges. He shall also bring him to the door, or to the doorpost, and his master shall pierce his ear with an awl; and he shall serve him forever.”
“A Servant For Life,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
The Ten Commandments began with a reminder of Israel’s bondage as slaves, and now the judgements of God’s Law begin with the care and respect of “indentured servants,” or slaves. Their service was limited to six years and they had detailed rights to fair treatment; unlike the foreign nations at that time.
Yet when the time came for their release, if they loved their “master,”they could choose to remain with their master. Because of their love for their master some would chose to be A Servant for Life.
You and I were born into the slavery of sin and when we met Jesus and His Love we chose Him as our Master, Commander, and King. We became His BondServant for Life, because we Love Him more than anyone else and more than anything.
“More than worldly wealth,
More than life itself.
I Love You Jesus
More than anything!”
Paul talks about this transition from slaves of sin to slaves of righteousness here:
“Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?
But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered.
And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.
I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.”(Rom.6:16-19).
Aaaah Yes, my fellow Warrior, our Lifetime service to our Commander and King is based upon our Supreme Love for Him far above all others.
We Serve Him as BondServants of His Love - and He Calls you and I His Friends:
“No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.”(John 15:15).
The Faithful Warrior is God’s Servant For Life! Semper Fidelis! Oooh Rah!
