Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“A Successful Man who Failed with God”
Text: Genesis 36:6-7
“Then Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all the persons of his household, his cattle and all his animals, and all his goods which he had gained in the land of Canaan, and went to a country away from the presence of his brother Jacob. For their possessions were too great for them to dwell together, and the land where they were strangers could not support them because of their livestock.”
“A Successful Man who Failed with God,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
This chapter on Esau’s life is inserted here to show you and I the destination of a Life that pursues the “things of this world, as Esau did; “self-destruction.”
Esau was a successful man in the eyes of the world but he was a Failure in the eyes of God. Esau chose to love the world instead of loving God.
Here’s what. The Apostle John says about this:
“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.
And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.” (1 John 2:15-17).
Jesus tells you and I today:
“…… Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.
For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?
Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.” (Mark 8:33-38).
