Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
"Action Speaks Louder Than Words"
"Then Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests and built the Sheep Gate; they consecrated it and hung its doors. They built as far as the Tower of the Hundred, and consecrated it, then as far as the Tower of Hananel."
Breakfast this morning shows us the fruit from a passionate heart - Action! Words are not enough for a passionate heart. Passion demands Action! "Talk is cheap," when action does not follow. Talk was cheap to the nobles of Tekoa (v.5), because passion for God's building was not behind their talk. Not so, with Eliashib.
Eliashib the high priest and spiritual leader of Israel rose up with his brethren the priests, and together they built the Sheep Gate first - and others followed building together, the remaining sections of the wall.
The rebuilding began and ended at the Sheep Gate. This is where the sheep were brought in for the daily sacrifices in the temple. Eliashib and the priests had a passion for God's service as spiritual leaders; and the rebuilding of the wall should begin at the House of God.
As Warriors, this is where we begin our daily inspection of our spiritual "walls," around our life. Every morning we have Breakfast with our Commander and we walk the perimeter of our wall with Him, asking Him to "search our hearts, prove us, (and test our walls), see if there are any broken down places that need repair! (Psa.139:23-24). We are always ready to rebuild what has been broken down.
Our "Building" begins and ends with our relationship with our Commander Jesus, at the "Sheep Gate" of our Heart. We guard this vigilantly (Prov.4:23). We ask God to "post a guard over our mouth, and keep watch over the door of my lips (Psa.141:3). We don't just talk about this, we take immediate action like Eliasheb did! We rise up and build and repair whatever has been broken down. Oooh Rah!
