Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(Deut.17:1 - 18:8)
“Benchmarks of a Servant Leader”
“you shall surely set a king over you whom the LORD your God chooses; one from among your brethren you shall set as king over you; you may not set a foreigner over you, who is not your brother.”
Our Commander and King has “Benchmarks of a Servant Leader,” on the menu this morning for Breakfast.
Our Commander is the Perfect Model of a Servant Leader:
First: Be from among your brethren.
“Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.”(Heb.2:17)
Second: Be dead to Lust of the eye, lust of the flesh, and pride of life (1John 2:15-17)
He was also dead to the riches, honor, and pleasures of this world (Deut.17:16-17). “..made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.”(Phil.2:7).
Third: Write a copy of the Law, Read it all the days of his life and Learn to fear God (Deut.17:18-20).
He was the Writer and Scholar of the Law that He practiced perfectly as The Son of Man; speaking with the scholars of the Law at age 12 (Luke 2:46-48), and “always doing those things that please My Father,” (John 8:29).
He has made us ambassadors to represent Him on earth as His Servant Leaders (2Corin.5:20).
His Benchmarks of a Servant Leader are our Benchmarks also:
First: We are “from among our brethren,” we are ‘dirt plus God’ like everyone else on earth; it’s good for Warriors to remember this as they serve others.
Second: We’re dead to “multiplying riches in this world” because we know they’re only temporary - and our ‘true riches’ that we have now, in Christ, are far greater and they are eternal!(Luke 16:11).
We’re dead to the honor this world provides. We know this opens the door of pride that tells us we’re better than others. We know the ‘true honor’ is in serving others like our Commander and King does. “But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. (Matt.23:11).
We’re dead to the pleasures of these world because they’re only for a moment, our ‘everlasting true pleasure’ is found in the presence of God: “You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.(Psa.16:11).
Third: Every day we Read and Chew on the Word of God, meeting with our Commander for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. We deploy His Word in spiritual warfare every day in the circumstances we face.
These are the Benchmarks of a Servant Leader. These are the Benchmarks of a Warrior! Listen up Warrior! Practicing these Benchmarks will increase your spiritual and moral influence in this world. This is one way God changes the hearts of people and heals the brokenness of mankind. Oooh Rah!
