Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
"Blessing in the Desert"
"Dwell in this land, and I will be with you and bless you; for to you and your descendants I give all these lands, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father."
Our Breakfast this morning reminds us that Blessing lives in the Presence of our Commander Jesus; even in the "deserts and seasons of famine," we encounter!
Isaac chose to obey God and not leave the land of Promise for Egypt where there was food. Like his father Abraham, he was intimidated by the Philistines he lived among, but as God rescued him and Rebecca from their fear of man, Isaac remembered God's Promise "..to be with him and bless him..." in this land of his Divine Inheritance.
So, he sowed in the land and reaped a hundredfold in the same year! (v.12,13) And continued to prosper and multiply - because "God was with him."
Warriors will also encounter seasons of famine, and deserts to pass through. Losing a job, dealing with an illness, broken relationships; deserts and famines come in all flavors. Yet the Promise of our Commander Jesus is unchanging: "I'm with you always" (Heb.13:5) and I'll bring rivers in the desert and make your wilderness a pool of water....(Isa.41:17-20). I'm still the "... God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did! (Rom.4:17)
Our Commander's Presence IS the Blessing we walk in, through every day and every season of life; especially the deserts and famines of life. Ooooh Rah!
