Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
"Character is Proven in Affliction"
"For your servant became surety for the lad to my father, saying, 'If I do not bring him back to you, then I shall bear the blame before my father forever.’"
Character, like Faith, Hope, and Love, is Proven in Affliction.
Joseph is proving whether the attitude and behavior of his brothers toward his father and Benjamin has changed.
He listened to their conversation and he watched their behavior at the feast to see what they did when Benjamin received "5 times more food " than they did. Now, this final drama clearly showed their true repentance with Judah's heart rending plea for Benjamin's release. Judah speaks, with "Messiah" in his loins; (Heb.7:14) as "Surety for Mankind" and "bearing our blame of sin once for all," (Heb.10:14).
Our Commander demonstrated His Love for us "by the sufferings (affliction)," that He endured:
"He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied.
By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many,
For He shall bear their iniquities. (Isa.53:11) He gave Himself as a "ransom" for all (1Tim.2:6)
Listen up Warrior! Our Love will be tested and proven in the afflictions we endure because of our Love for Jesus Christ.
It is our honor and privilege to
"... be counted worthy to suffer shame for His name," (Acts5:41). For in these afflictions we stand with our Commander in His Love, Grace, and Mercy as "lights in this world" - shining the Glory of our Commander and King for all to see His wonderful works in us! Ooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
