Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(Judges 10:6 - 11:28)
“Choosing Our King”
Text: Judges 11:9-10
“So Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, “If you take me back home to fight against the people of Ammon, and the LORD delivers them to me, shall I be your head?”
And the elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, “The LORD will be a witness between us, if we do not do according to your words.”
“Choosing Our King,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
Israel is in a desperate place, Again, because of their sin, and they’re looking for a Hero to Rule over them, be their king, and deliver them from their oppressor, the Ammonites.
These elders went looking for Jephthah, a mighty Warrior, whom they had rejected long ago.
Jephthah speaks the words of our text this morning: “If you take me back to fight against the people of Ammon, and the LORD delivers them to me, shall I be your head?” The elders answer Yes!
Israel, in effect of these words was Choosing Their king; the one they would follow, obey, and submit to.
Listen up Warrior! Everyone Must Choose Their King; Jesus Christ or the devil!
Warriors remember when the devil was their king; a cruel, hateful taskmaster, driving us to kill, steal, and destroy everything we touch. We followed, obeyed, and submitted to him every day! That was our choice “by default.”
But then one day, one very desperate moment, we went searching for a Hero that we heard of, named Jesus! He was a Mighty Warrior, God of Battles! We had rejected Him before when others spoke to us about Him but Now in our desperate condition we beg Him to deliver us from our slavery of sin.
Jesus tells us His Terms of Unconditional Surrender:
“If I Deliver You Will I Be Your Head?”
The Warrior responds “Yes, My Commander and My King; My Life is Your Life!” Ooooh Rah!
I will Follow, Obey, and Submit to You through the Power of Holy Spirit In Me! Oooh Rah!
Our Commander Jesus Christ is our King, and He has given you and I The Helper Holy Spirit to work His Work of Transformation in us!
“for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.”(Phil.2:13).
He works in us “the Will to Do,” by Growing a passionate desire in us to be holy as He is Holy, and to imitate Him in all we do, say, and think.
He works in us the Supernatural Power “to Do whatever pleases Him.”
The Warrior’s King Rules Over His Warriors with Love, Grace, and Mercy; because you and I have Chosen Our King Forever! Oooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
