Good Morning Marines and Warriors!
Word for the Day:
"Chosen to Stand and to Serve, before God"
"My sons, do not be negligent now, for the Lord has chosen you to stand before Him, to serve Him, and that you should minister to Him and burn incense.”
Our Breakfast this morning reminded us of our Calling and our Purpose - to Stand before Him, and to Serve Him in Praise and Worship.
King Hezekiah knew his calling and he pursued it radically as King David pursued his calling.
In the first month, of his reign as King, Hezekiah "opened the doors of God's house and repaired them," (v.3).
We can't stand before God and serve Him, if we have "neglected His place in our heart, His temple, and in our life," (v.11) and allowed the trash of wrong attitudes, wrong behavior, and selfish desires to accumulate in our heart.
Hezekiah tells the Levites to First sanctify, separate themselves as devoted to God as His Warrior - and then, they will be able to sanctify, separate the temple of God, from a neglected, common place - to be a Holy and devoted temple to God Only.
In order to do this work in the Levite first, and then in God's temple; the Levites had to "take out ALL the trash," that had accumulated in their lives and in God's house through years of wickedness and immorality!
I can hear Hezekiah's words echoing in my heart this morning, as a Warrior of the Kingdom of God!
Like my father David cried out - I too cry out: "Oh Mighty God, my King and Commander! Search my heart, try me, test me, prove me, and see if there is any trash in my heart (Psa.139:23-25). Show me so I can confess it as evil and repent of it - and sanctify, set myself apart as devoted to You alone!"
In other words; "I take my "Stand" for Righteousness and "Serve" You with ALL my Heart, Mind, Soul, and Strength.
Listen up Warrior! We have an impossible mission - that can Only be completed with the Power and Presence of God working in us and through us (Phil.2:12-13).
And this happens as we walk with our eyes and heart set upon our Hero, King, and Commander Jesus Christ! Oooh Rah!
Oh, I hear an old song coming on now:
"I will stand Oh Lord,
In this Holy Place.
I will Worship You,
And Behold Your Face.
I will be Transformed,
By Thy Word and Thy Spirit,
And Behold the Day of Thy Power!"
As God's Warriors we are Armed and Dangerous, fitted with our Weapons of Praise and Worship for our Commander!
We are Chosen to Stand and to Serve Before God! Ooh Rah!
