Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“Complacency is Contagious “
Text: Numbers 32:6
“Now why will you discourage the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which the LORD has given them?”
“Complacency is Contagious” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning. Complacency, and self-satisfaction is contagious; it discourages those who are pursuing the prize of promise that God has set before them. That’s what Israel did 38 years ago and that’s what these 2 1/2 tribes are doing today. They were in effect saying; we’ve fought long enough and we’re satisfied with the land we see - we don’t want to continue with you in your pursuit of the Promised land on the other side of the Jordan River.
This self interest of unbelief separated Manasseh as a tribe and it separated Israel as a nation.
Complacency is contagious, it separates unbelief from Faith, and in the end it leads to death.
Even though the 2 1/2 tribes went with the rest of Israel to help the others gain their promised land, their self-satisfied heart was on the other side of Jordan, not on the land of Promise. Israel was weakened and Manasseh was weakened because of complacency and unbelief.
Sadly we can see this today among believers who are satisfied where they’re at and don’t want to press on toward a deeper walk with God and the Promised Land of Heaven, the upward call of God.
Aaaah yes, this is the Warrior’s Passion! The Passion of our Commander and King Jesus, our Perfect Model:
“looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”(Heb.12:2)
You and I were the “joy that was set before Him!”
Our fellow Warrior Paul also who testifies to us today,
“Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”(Phil.3:13-14).
Our Love for Our Commander Jesus Christ and our Love for souls of others is “the joy set before us,” and “the Prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” That’s what we pursue passionately. Oh Hallelujah! The Warrior is ‘God satisfied’ not ‘self-satisfied’; and our Faith is Contagious! Oooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
Jesus and Billy
