Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(Judges 14 & 15)
“Consecration Without Communion”
Text: Judges 14:9
“He took some of it in his hands and went along, eating. When he came to his father and mother, he gave some to them, and they also ate. But he did not tell them that he had taken the honey out of the carcass of the lion.”
“Consecration Without Communion,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
Samson is a model of what not to do. He had been born a Nazarite from the womb, like John the Baptist; yet his life was the Opposite of the life of John the Baptist. The Spirit of God was on Samson to Serve God as a Nazarite - yet he consistently served himself and his fleshly appetites.
From the beginning of choosing a wicked daughter of the Philistine enemy to satisfy his lust, to reaching in to the dead carcass of the lion he killed for the honey; Samson violated his Nazarite vow, marrying the wicked and touching a dead animal. This became his lifestyle, having the appearance of Consecration without having consistent Communion with God.
Yes, God used used him “in spite” of his error, the way God uses the wicked to punish the wicked; but Samson failed miserably from realizing the full potential that God had for his life - because he had Consecration Without Communion.
In other words, Samson had the “appearance” of Consecration in the eyes of others, without consistent “Communion” with God.
How can this happen to a person who has “the Spirit of God come upon him?”
This Truth explains the difference between John the Baptist and Samson; John practiced Communion with God consistently and Samson did not.
God will Never violate our Free Will Choice to Obey or Disobey Him. His Gifts and Calling are without repentance, freely given and freely received; but how we “use” these Gifts is our choice. We can Serve God in Obedience to His Will or we can serve our self in disobedience.
God does not “force us to obey Him,” that would make us “spiritual robots,” not children of God.
