Good Morning Marine!
Word for the Day:
“I Will Trust In God!”
Text: Ezra 8:21-22
“Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from Him the right way for us and our little ones and all our possessions. For I was ashamed to request of the king an escort of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy on the road, because we had spoken to the king, saying, “The hand of our God is upon all those for good who seek Him, but His power and His wrath are against all those who forsake Him.”
The Warrior’s Declaration, “I Will Trust In God!”, is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
Before beginning this perilous journey to Jerusalem Ezra “proclaimed a fast, and humbled himself before God to Seek Him for the right way to go.”
He could have asked the king for soldiers to protect them all along the way - but that would be a shame to him by making Yahweh, Ezra’s LORD, appear to be unable to protect His Own People! Rather than do that, Ezra Declared I Will Trust In God! Oooooh Rah!
God could have used the king’s soldiers to protect them - the way God used King Cyrus to release them from captivity. Ezra did not know “the right way,” so he fasted and humbled himself to Seek God and Find Out The Right Way - to receive help from the things of this world, or to receive help from Yahweh Himself Alone.
Listen up Warrior! Not every battle we face is Our battle to Fight! Sometimes it’s God’s Fight! He Will Fight For Us and We Will Watch as He Parts the Red Sea of Impossibility for us - and Makes our Pathway a Coffin for our enemies! Oooh Rah!
Listen up Warrior! Your Declaration of Trust In God is Proven by the way you Respond to “ perilous journeys,” each day. The Warrior’s life of Faith itself is a perilous journey every day! That’s why we meet with our Commander for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner each day.
Let’s ask ourself this question:
In times of peril and need;
Is my first response to humble myself before God and Seek the right way?
Or is my first response to look around at the world, the things I can do in my ability and with my material resources, or my Flawed and Imperfect wisdom?
Listen up Warrior! The Warrior Must develop a “trained first response.”
Holy Spirit is our “First Responder,” and He trains us to develop a “trained first response,” to chaos and peril:
“I Will Trust In God!” Ooooh Rah!
This is how we acknowledge God in All Our Ways to Direct Our Paths - show us the right way (Prov.3:5-6).
“I Will Trust In God, At All Times!” Oooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
