Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“Deliver the Mail”
“Then Samuel told him everything, and hid nothing from him. And he said, “It is the LORD. Let Him do what seems good to Him.”
“Deliver the Mail,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning. Good News and Bad News; the Warrior is responsible to their Commander to Deliver the Mail.
This was Samuel’s first experience of “receiving mail” from God; the judgement of God on Eli’s disobedience. This mail would confirm to Eli what God had told him earlier through the man of God in 1Sam.2:27-36.
This mail also warned Samuel of God’s judgement upon anyone else that “refused to restrain their sons from wickedness! No doubt Samuel saw the daily wickedness of Hophni and Phinehas as a young boy. This would be remembered by Samuel as he dealt with his own sons rebellion by removing them from the priesthood. (1Sam.8:3-5; 12:2)
So we see God’s message is delivered to us as well as to others; bad news of judgement or good news of blessing.
Like Samuel we’re charged by our Commander to Deliver the Mail of the Gospel of Jesus Christ - first to our heart and secondly to those among us. The Gospel is Good News to those who receive it and repent; it’s bad news for this who reject it.
We deliver this Mail of the Gospel with meekness and holy fear because it is a Message of Life and Death; life for those who repent and death for those who reject it.
When we deliver this mail to others we deliver it to ourself also, by remembering how we once were before we met Christ.
Samuel delivered God’s Mail to Eli and we are also commanded to deliver God’s Mail of the Gospel to people we walk among. Warriors are always ready to give a reason for the Hope that lies within us (1Pet.3:15) - we’re ready to Deliver the Mail! Oooh Rah!
