Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(Numbers 25:1 - 26:51)
“Empty and Full”
Text: Numbers 25:3
“So Israel was joined to Baal of Peor, and the anger of the LORD was aroused against Israel.”
“Empty and Full” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
How can someone be empty and full?
By loving Someone so much that you don’t want or need anyone else. You are Empty of “wanting or needing” anyone else because you are Filled with the Someone that you love more than anyone or anything else. In other words you are Empty and Full.
Israel was not empty and full. Like many people today, Israel wanted both the things of the world and the things of God. They wanted to taste both God and the ungodly world; and this kept them “unstable in all their ways.”
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;
he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”(James 1:5-8).
This was the root of Israel’s chronic weakness bouncing between faithfulness and unfaithfulness, victory and defeat; they were not Empty of the world and Full of God and His Ways! This is the same problem with many today who know better. They want the things of comfort in this world but they also want God and His ways; and this keeps them “unstable in all their ways.”
The cure for this virus of instability is to Choose this day and every day Who is your Supreme Love. Who is the Someone you love and need more than anyone or anything else.
Moses told Israel this in Exodus 20:3-4;
Joshua told Israel this in Joshua 24:15;
Elijah told Israel this in 1Kings 18:21; and Paul testifies to you and I today in Galatians 2:20 (amplified)
“I have been crucified with Christ [that is, in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith [by adhering to, relying on, and completely trusting] in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”
You and I are Empty and Full when we Love God Supremely; only then can we Love others the way God loves them. Oooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
