Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(Num. 12 & 13)
“Eyes On God!”
Text: Num. 12:30
“Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.”
Our Word for the Day this morning has a theme on our Breakfast menu - Eyes on God!
Keeping our Eyes on God and not on our self, is the posture of a Warrior who walks intimately with their Commander Almighty God! This was Caleb’s posture as he quieted the scared sheep screaming in terror. Caleb was a ‘sheep dog,’ ready for a fight. He had waited for this day as a slave in Egypt, holding the promise of a ‘land of milk and honey’ in his heart, in Egypt and during this journey through the wilderness - and now he’s “walking in the land of his dream!” All these years he’s been building intimacy with God as he led his tribe Judah. Now, he sees these giants as dead men before his Commander Almighty God! That’s why he shouts “Let’s go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.” Caleb had his Eyes on God so the giants were all dead! “As we see so are we seen!” As we see ourself with God - others will see us this way also. The scared sheep of unbelievers saw themself alone, without God - like a common grasshopper; so that’s how the giants saw them...(v.33). Our Commander doesn’t lead grasshoppers into combat He leads Warriors into the fight!
Listen up Warrior! Here’s our take away lesson from this. We Keep our Eyes on our Commander at all times. Every challenge we face, every battle we engage, our eyes are on our Commander Almighty God. He is far bigger than any circumstance or opposition we face. The spiritual forces we engage are all dead corpses in the presence of our Commander.
We deploy His Promises on the battlefields of life, and enforce His Victory over every force of spiritual wickedness. Oooh Rah!
He is our Source of Life (John 15:4), we abide in each other as the Vine and the branch. His sap of life flows in and through us - so that as He is so are we in this world (1John 4:17). This is how we see our self in Him by Faith - and this is how the spiritual wickedness we face sees us. We are Warriors of God, His instruments of Righteousness (Rom.6:13). Our Eyes Are On Our Commander Almighty God! Ooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
