Good Morning Warrior!
(1 Kings 12)
“Fight For The Cause of Your King”
Text: 1 Kings 12:15
“So the king did not listen to the people; for the turn of events was from the LORD, that He might fulfill His word, which the LORD had spoken by Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.”
People will “Fight for the Cause of their King,” and that’s what’s on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
People Fight for the Cause of one of two kings; the King of Righteousness Or the king of Unrighteousness.
Rehoboam and Jeroboam both fought for the king of unrighteousness, the devil; and his “cause” is to steal, kill, and destroy - so that’s why they both fought each other.
Rehoboam fought for Pride and Lust for Power, and Jeroboam fought for more comfort in his labor of sin and idolatry - they both fought for the cause of the same king!
Solomon began fighting for the Cause of Righteousness but ended up switching sides to serve the king of unrighteousness, pride, and lust. God judged him for this betrayal and took the Kingdom of Israel from him (1Kings 11:11-13). That’s what we see happening today with both his son Rehoboam and With Jeroboam.
Listen up Warrior! You and I know these two Kings; we’ve served one as an unbeliever and conquered that king of unrighteousness by surrendering our life to the King of Kings, the King of Righteousness. Ooooh Rah! We were conquered by His Love and now as a Warrior of Almighty God we conquer the king of unrighteousness as our enemy every day, by choosing Love instead of hate, Faith instead of Fear, Trust instead of Unbelief, and Obedience instead of Disobedience, to our Commander and King! Oooooh Rah!
The Warrior Fights For The Cause Of Their King - Righteousness in our Life, and Righteousness in the Life of others! The Gospel of Jesus Christ IS OUR CAUSE.
This was the Cause of King David that grew a Shepherd’s Heart in him, and made him a man after God’s heart. Through every failure David confessed, repented, and got back up again and continued to pursue the heart of God BECAUSE he heard the Cry of his heart scream: “Fight For The Cause Of Your King!” Ooooh Rah!
Listen up to the Cry of your Heart this morning Warrior and
FIGHT FOR THE CAUSE OF YOUR KING! Oooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
Jesus and Billy
