Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(Num. 9 - 10:10)
“Following The Leader”
Text: Num. 10:2
“Make two silver trumpets for yourself; you shall make them of hammered work; you shall use them for calling the congregation and for directing the movement of the camps.”
“Following The Leader,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning. As a little boy I remember playing the game of “following the leader,” on the playground, during recess. We followed the kid that led us; where they went we went, and what they did we copied.
As Warriors we follow our Leader, our Commander and King Jesus. We go where He leads us and we do what He does.
He told Israel to make two silver trumpets to use for “assembling the congregation,” and for “directing the armies of the tribes.”
Today, we have the Gospel Trumpet that is sounded every time the Gospel is preached; and every time we read and chew on the Word of God. The preaching of the Gospel ‘Assembles the people of God’ commanding their attention; to remind them of Passover, encourage and comfort them, convict them of sin, and inspire them to action. God’s Word is like a mirror that shows us how God sees us, and inspires us to act on ‘what God sees,’ and DO ‘what God says!’ (Jam.1:23-25)
The Trumpet of the Gospel also “directs the Warriors of God,” in waging spiritual warfare (Heb.4:12); unmasking the enemy, exposing his strategy, so that we are not ignorant of the devil’s devices (2Corin. 2:11). God’s Word reveals His Wisdom of Truth to deploy against the lies of our enemy.
In other words, the Word of God is our Trumpet and Holy Spirit sounds the Trumpet of God’s Word to bring the Warrior to attention and prepare them for battle. We are on a ‘war footing’ in this world. So we must maintain a state of readiness; that’s why we keep our Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner ‘Dates With Jesus.” We Follow Our Leader everywhere He leads us. And because we follow Him constantly here on earth - we’ll be ready to follow Him upward when The ArchAngel Gabriel blows his Trumpet!
“For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep.
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
Therefore comfort one another with these words,” (1Thess.4:15-18).
