Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(2 Chronicles 10 & 11)
“God’s Inner Work in the Heart”
Text: 2 Chronicles 16-17
“And after the Levites left, those from all the tribes of Israel, such as set their heart to seek the LORD God of Israel, came to Jerusalem to sacrifice to the LORD God of their fathers.
So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and made Rehoboam the son of Solomon strong for three years, because they walked in the way of David and Solomon for three years.”
“God’s Inner Work in the Heart,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
God’s Inner Work in the Heart of His Warrior Commands Our Attention and Participation! Ooooh Rah.
Solomon would have done well if he practiced the words he wrote in Proverbs 4:23:
“Keep your heart with all diligence,
For out of it spring the issues of life.”
From his failure to “keep his heart with all diligence,” flowed a life of corruption. From 300 wives and 700 concubines and multitudes of children, only one son was named as a successor, and he was a foolish man.
Rehoboam’s problem was the same as his father’s - “He did not keep his heart righteous.”
Because of God’s Inner Work in their heart’s the Priests, Levites, and righteous people from the tribes of Israel ALL LEFT Jeroboam and Came To Rehoboam and Judah. They “participated” with God’s inner work in their heart with their faithfulness and obedience to His Law.
They chose to keep their heart righteous and obedient to God.
For three years they strengthened Judah and Rehoboam because they walked in the way of David and Solomon.
Sadly, after three years Rehoboam, like his father Solomon rejected God by disobedience, multiplying wives and concubines and led Judah back into idolatry.
We need to take a lesson from these kings David, Solomon, and Rehoboam; and make God’s Inner Work in our Heart Our Priority!
Faithful Warriors ALWAYS make time for communion with their Commander; morning, noon, and evening. King David declared:
“Evening and morning and at noon
I will pray, and cry aloud,
And He shall hear my voice.” (Psa.55:17).
Please hear me Warrior! Walking Faithfully every day in the Light of God’s Word with our Commander Jesus Christ and Our Helper Holy Spirit, is how we participate in God’s Inner Work in our Heart.
From this Inner Work in our Heart flow all the issues of life; flavored with God’s Righteousness, Peace, and Joy in the Holy Spirit.
Remember you are not alone in this work of faithfulness and obedience:
“Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;
for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.”(Phil.2:12-13).
Warrior at your side,
Jesus and Billy
