Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(2 Kings 8)
“Good Doesn’t Mix With Evil; it Conquers it”
Text: 2Kings 8:18
“And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, just as the house of Ahab had done, for the daughter of Ahab was his wife; and he did evil in the sight of the LORD.”
The principle that “Good Doesn’t Mix With Evil; it Conquers it,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
King Jehoshaphat thought he could make peace with Israel by giving his son Jehoram to king Ahab’s daughter; thereby making a “marraige alliance” between Judah and Israel. In reality he wanted to Mix with evil instead of Conquer evil. What Jehoshaphat thought would Strengthen Judah actually Weakened Judah! The deep tragedy in this alliance was the pollution of goodness and increase in evil that resulted from this alliance; and ruined his legacy.
That’s what happens when a Warrior tries to “negotiate” with the enemy of lust and pride; that Warrior has been “compromised,” their power and authority has been “neutralized,” and their integrity has been destroyed; and they are no longer effective as a Warrior in the Kingdom of God.
Good Doesn’t Mix With Evil; it Conquers it! Paul told the Corinthian Church this:
“Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?
And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?
And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said:
“I will dwell in them
And walk among them.
I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.”
“Come out from among them
And be separate, says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean,
And I will receive you.”
“I will be a Father to you,
And you shall be My sons and daughters,
Says the LORD Almighty.” (2Corin.6:14-18).
In other words, to mix with evil is to become evil - and that is unacceptable to the Warrior!
We are In this World but we’re not a part of this world - we’re only passing through this world, on a rescue mission, on our way home.
Don’t let the things of this world “stick to you,” as you’re passing through this world. Wash and Cleanse yourself daily with prayer, personal devotion time with your Commander and His Word, and living out the Gospel in front of all the people you walk among. Our Commander Jesus Christ is watching and listening to how we live and what we say! We are Conquerors of evil, not Mixers! Ooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
