Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“Growing a Heart of Great Faith”
Text: Genesis 17:17
“Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart, “Shall a child be born to a man who is one hundred years old? And shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?”
“Growing a Heart of Great Faith,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
Choosing to Believe God IS Who He says He IS -
And Will Do What He Promises He Will Do; this is how you and I Grow a Heart of Great Faith. That’s what Abraham did!
It takes years to Grow a Heart of Great Faith. Failures and Success, Hard times and Good times, Exciting times and mundane normal times; all these line the pathway of Growing a Heart of Great Faith…
It did for Abraham and it will for you and I.
At seventy-five years old he left Haran for the Promise of a land he had not seen, because he CHOSE to Believe God IS God and that He Would Do what He Promised to Do. After 24 years on this pathway of growth, mostly a mundane and normal life, Abraham has his name changed from Abram (father of many) to Abraham (father of many nations). And now at ninety-nine years of age God rehearses His Promise of a son to Abraham again!
Paul says this well in Romans 4:17-22:
“as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;
who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.”
And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.
He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God,
and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.
And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”
