Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“Growing Up In Jesus”
Text: Numbers 14:11
“Then the LORD said to Moses: “How long will these people reject Me? And how long will they not believe Me, with all the signs which I have performed among them?”
“Growing Up In Jesus,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
You and I were Born to Grow Up! All Creation was birthed to grow up. We grow up spiritually the same way we grow up physically; from a new born baby believer nursing on the milk of God’s Word, (1Pet.2:2), to a young believer feeding on the meat of God’s Word, (Heb.5:12), to a disciple and Warrior actively engaged in spiritual warfare, daily meeting with our Commander Jesus Christ, God of Battles; and executing His Commands on the Battlefields of Faith! Ooooh Rah!
In our text Israel is still at the baby stage of growth; after many signs and wonders that God has done they Still don’t believe in Him! Here they are like a bunch of babies crying for a bottle of milk; accusing God of bringing them into the desert to kill them.
They had Refused to Grow Up In God. They wanted to stay little babies forever. Yet there were Seasoned Warriors among them; Joshua and Caleb! Aaaaah Yes! Joshua and Caleb saw the Giants of Canaan as a Banquet and Feast ready to be eaten as they pleaded with these babies:
“Only do not rebel against the LORD, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the LORD is with us. Do not fear them.” (Numbers 14:9).
The mob of babies rose up to stone them but God intervened with His Glorious Presence and put a stop to their mutiny!
Unfortunately, too many new believers today want to stay babies, and watch young believers and Warriors from the grandstand; hearing their stories of great victories of Faith, but not getting out the of the bleachers to join these Warriors on the field of Spiritual Warfare. These babies are still unskilled in the Word of God because they’ve never tested or proven the promises of God on the Battlefield of Faith.
Paul tells the Hebrews this:
“For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.
For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.
But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” (Heb.5:12-14).
Listen up Warrior! Let us stand like Joshua and Caleb and speak with the Living Letter of our Life (2Corin.3:2-3), to the immature believers among us:
“It’s time to Grow Up In Jesus!” Help them take their “first step,” and if they fall, help them get back up again, and again, and again, until they learn to walk. When they Walk they’ll learn to Stand and Fight the fight for righteousness. This is what the Process of Disciple Making is all about. Find a young believer and help them Grow Up in Jesus! Oooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
