Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
"Guarding The Gates"
"And I said to them, “Do not let the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun is hot; and while they stand guard, let them shut and bar the doors; and appoint guards from among the inhabitants of Jerusalem, one at his watch station and another in front of his own house.”
Breakfast this morning shows us the command to guard the gates of our heart (our house), and our city (our local church community).
Gates are the only way into a city, and the only way out. Enemies that sneak into the city will eventually control the city.
Israel lived in turbulent times with enemies on every side. They needed to strictly guard the gates to Jerusalem as well as their house.
We too, as Warriors, live in turbulent times, surrounded by worldly influences that threaten our way of godliness.
Our warfare is first within our heart, guarding our relationship with our Commander Jesus (Prov.4:23). Nothing should be allowed to sneak through the "gates" of my eyes, ears, and mouth, that is not "filtered" through the Standards of Righteous Living - Modeled and Commanded by our King Jesus Christ!
Warriors must guard what they See, Hear, and Speak. We don't guard these gates alone, Our Commander is with us, "watching over us" (Psa.121:5) and "He establishes us and guards us from the evil one" (2Thess.3:3).
We open up the Gates every morning with Breakfast with our Commander Jesus; letting in the Source of Life, God's Word, to bathe us in righteousness. Lunch with our King is our "mid-day break" to meet with Him. And we close the gates and bar them as we have Dinner with our King at the end of the day. And going to sleep in the hand of God, only to wake up in His hand in the morning - ready for Breakfast!
How we guard our heart individually, is how we will guard the heart of our family, and our local church community; Faithfully and Diligently.
We are Warriors and we are Watchmen on the wall, Guarding The Gates (Ezek.3:17). Ooooh Rah!
