Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“Remembering Our Brokenness without Christ”
Text: 2 Chron.26:5
“He sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God; and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him prosper.”
“Remembering Our Brokenness without Christ,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning. When we remember our brokenness without Christ it is natural to “seek the Lord,” like Uzziah did as a young man. When we forget our brokenness without Christ, self-pride gains a foothold in our heart; and “our heart is lifted up to our destruction,” like Uzziah’s heart was (v.16).
The king of Pride led Uzziah to destruction and death as a leper. It all started with his forgetting “Who he was without God!”
How then can we forget our brokenness without Christ when there are wicked people all around us in this broken world? They remind us of who we were without Christ!
Looking at the worst of people, we can say: “There I am without the Grace of God!”
“Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh—who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands--
that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.”(Eph.2:11-13)
When we consider all we have been forgiven from as “a little thing,” we consider the Grace of Jesus Christ “a little thing.” Jesus shared this spiritual principle with Simon a Pharisee, who considered his own brokenness a little thing:
“Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.” (Luke 7:47).
