Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(Num. 30, 31)
“How We See Sin”
Text: Num. 31:3
“So Moses spoke to the people, saying, “Arm some of yourselves for war, and let them go against the Midianites to take vengeance for the LORD on Midian.”
How We See Sin, is on the menu for Breakfast this morning. As we read this Word for the Day this morning we need to “see” what is behind this brutal and horrific war - Sin! We need to see sin the way God sees sin. He hates it! Sin kills, steals and destroys every good and perfect thing He creates. Sin is what ruined His creation of mankind and separated mankind from Himself! He executed His vengeance upon sin with His Life on Earth, His Death on the Cross, and His Physical Resurrection from the grave!
We need to see sin the way our Commander sees sin, and then we will hate it with perfect hatred, the way David hated the enemies of God:”Do I not hate them, O LORD, who hate You?
And do I not loathe those who rise up against You?
I hate them with perfect hatred;
I count them my enemies.” (Psa.139:21-22).
Sin was behind the wickedness of the Midianites and it required the vengeance of the Lord.
Listen up Warrior! We have the mind of Christ in us (1Corin.2:16), but we need to not hinder it but allow it to BE in us as it is Christ (Phil. 2:5). We need to see sin as God sees it, and hate it as God hates it. We who love the Lord hate evil (Psa.97:10).
Paul shows us the practical way of dealing with sin, our enemy, in spiritual warfare in (2Corin.10:3-6). He captures in verse 6 the vengeance of God upon sin through our action:
“and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.” In the original Greek context this reads: “and will have vindication for every act of disobedience once your obedience is complete.” So, by taking your thoughts captive and conforming to the thought processes of Christ you will have ‘legal justification’ over your past disobedience.
So, How Do We See Sin? We see it like God sees it, and we execute God’s vengeance upon it by Obedience to His Command to Confess and Repent of it Immediately! No negotiation, no excuses, no captive prisoners; every enemy of sin must die! Ooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
