Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“Jesus Christ our Reference Point”
Text: Numbers 2:17
“And the tabernacle of meeting shall move out with the camp of the Levites in the middle of the camps; as they camp, so they shall move out, everyone in his place, by their standards.”
“Jesus Christ our Reference Point,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
This massive movement of millions of people through the wilderness was in a highly organized manner because each person and tribe had the same reference point; the Tabernacle and Dwelling Place of God.
God was their Reference Point.
This 11 day journey would take 38 years. Only those who kept God as their reference point and obeyed Him would survive this journey.
They moved as one people because each and all of them Obeyed the commands from the same Reference Point - the Tabernacle.
Today, our Commander and King Jesus Christ is our Tabernacle. The Bible says it this way:
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.”
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”(John 1:1, 2, 14)
Jesus dwelled among us as Son of Man and today as our High Priest Who prays for you and I continuously!(Heb.7:25)
As the Tabernacle led Israel so our Commander Jesus Christ leads you and I through this wilderness of life on earth. He said “follow Me,” not follow others:
“Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” They immediately left their nets and followed Him.”(Matt.4:19)
Our challenge during this journey is to keep our focus upon Our Commander Jesus Christ as our Reference Point for Character and Behavior. In other words measure our heart and character against the model of our Commander, not other people.
Jesus is our Perfect Model by conforming to His Father’s Will (John 8:29), and leaving us an example of service in love, in prayer, in self-sacrifice, and in dependence upon God.
Our Commander Jesus Christ is our Reference Point that you and I strive to imitate:
“Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.
And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.”(Eph.5:1-2).
When each and all of us strive to imitate our Commander we will all move together through this wilderness of life, and arrive in Heaven forever TOGETHER with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Ooooh Rah!
