Good Morning Warrior!
Hallelujah, It’s The Lord’s Day!
Word for the Day:
“Jesus Paid Our Ransom”
“When you take the census of the children of Israel for their number, then every man shall give a ransom for himself to the LORD, when you number them, that there may be no plague among them when you number them.”
Oh Hallelujah! “Jesus Paid Our Ransom,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
This law of ransom money is a picture of Ownership.
Only the Owner is allowed to number, or take a census of what they owned. When Israel took a census of their people they were required to give a “ransom” to God, indicating His Ownership of their lives. By doing this there would be no plague upon Israel.
A Ransom is the required payment to release someone from bondage, like a prisoner or slave.
We were slaves in bondage to sin:
“Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.”(John 8:34).
Jesus Paid Our Ransom, to release us from the slavery and bondage of sin.
He paid what we could never pay - His Perfect Life as Son of Man! This was the required Ransom for our soul.
Jesus Served you and I by laying down His life for you and I:
“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. (John 15:12)
Jesus is the Perfect Model of a Servant:
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”(Mark 10:45)
Aaaah yes, Jesus took our place:
“Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,
and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”(Heb.2:14-15).
Oh Hallelujah! Now we are no longer slaves in bondage to sin but “endentured servants” of righteousness; (Rom.6:18) and Warrior’s of God! Because Jesus Paid Our Ransom! Oooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
Jesus and Billy
