Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(Judges 2:6 - 3:4)
Text: Judges 2:10
“When all that generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who did not know the LORD nor the work which He had done for Israel.”
“Knowing God,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning. Knowing God implies a personal experience with God. After Joshua and the elders died “another generation arose who did not know the Lord nor the work which He had done for Israel.” It appears that Joshua and the elders did not effectively pass on to this generation their history with God - nor did they inspire this generation to pursue their own personal adventure of Faith with God. The results were a generation of people handicapped by unbelief, beaten by those they were commanded to destroy.
Listen Up Warrior! We must teach and train our children and grandchildren to have a “growing” personal relationship with Jesus Christ. When we begin to teach them to talk, we teach them to pray; morning noon and evening over their food. We talk about God with them, and read Bible Stories, and have devotions together with God. We share our family history with God with them. We give them opportunities to have their own personal experience with God by teaching them to pray for themself when they get sick. Pray for themself when they are afraid. We show them how to use the Bible verses as a weapon in prayer. We must remember that we are raising Spiritual Warriors who will be leaders of their generation at an early age! I’ve heard two-year olds shout Hallelujah! When they got excited about something. And five year old’s preach on trusting God, walking by Faith, and fighting for what God says you can have in prayer! Don’t limit your son or daughter by doing everything for them - give them a chance to build and grow their own Faith relationship with God. “Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Prov.22:6). Develop family habits, short devotions before bedtime, encourage them to ask questions and search the Bible together with them for the answers. And always try to Remember that your son and daughter are Warriors that will lead their generation!
Every Generation Must Be a First Generation In Their Personal Experience With God! This is what Joshua and the elders missed - and what you and I must not miss.
One of the thrills of raising Spiritual Warriors for God is that they grow up to become our closest Friends and Fellow Warriors in our old age. Don’t delay this teaching and training of your children to Know God. Plant the Seed of God’s Word in them, Water It with Prayer, Fertilize it regularly with Love, and God Will Harvest a Mighty Warrior and Servant Leader in their generation. Just Trust the Seed you sowed in them! Oooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
