Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“Look to Me and be saved”
Text: Numbers 21:9
“So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.”
“Look to Me and be saved,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
God’s judgement for Israel’s rebellion of unbelief was deadly fiery serpents to bite them. Many were dying when God told Moses to make a bronze serpent and put it on a pole. Anyone who looked at it lived. God was showing Israel a picture of Messiah Jesus Christ bearing the sins of mankind on the cross.
Bronze is a symbol of judgement, the serpent is the symbol of satan and sin, and the pole a symbol of the cross.
Isaiah prophesied of Messiah here:
“Look to Me, and be saved,
All you ends of the earth!
For I am God, and there is no other.” (Isa.45:22).
When Israel looked to God they were guided by the pillar of fire and the pillar of cloud, they were fed with manna bread from heaven, they were victorious in battle with the Canaanites, and they possessed the land promised to them by God.
Our Commander Jesus Christ commands His Warriors to “Look to Me and be saved!” He says this today to the world:
“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:14-15).
Look to Him Alone and be saved from the wrath of God. He bore our sin. He crushed the head of that old serpent the devil (Gen.3:15). He rose from the dead, defeating death, hell, and the grave, for you and I! Look To Him and be saved Warrior! Oh HALLELUJAH!
“No other name but the name of Jesus
No other name but the name of the Lord
No other name but the name of Jesus
Is worthy of Glory
Is worthy of Honor
Is worthy of all Power and all Praise!”
That’s why the Warrior looks to their Commander Alone for Life! Ooooh Rah!
