Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
"Love is a Choice"
"The LORD will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the LORD your God and walk in His ways."
"Love is a Choice," is on our menu for Breakfast this morning. Yes, Love is a Choice Our Commander practices forever and a Choice the Warrior makes every day. When we choose to Love our Commander and King Obedience follows; you Obey the One you Love - because you love them. "If you love Me, keep My commandments."(John 14:15).
As I was reading our Word for the Day this morning I noticed there were 14 verses about Blessings for Obedience and 53 verses about curses for Disobedience. I thought of God's Love for us who choose to Love Him even when it hurts. Even when things don't go our way. Even when we don't understand why bad things happen to good people. Even when it hurts to Love God.... we Choose to Love Him Because we trust in His Character of Goodness and His Perfect Love for us.
These first 14 verses show us the "fringe benefits," that follow our Choice to Love our King! We're not pursuing the fringe benefits, we're pursuing the Heart of our King.
Then I began the 53 verses and saw God's Love continuing to Love those who "walk out on Him." Those who "forsake Him," for the pleasures of this world." Those who mock Him and reject His invitation of Love. Here is where God's Choice to Love hurts His heart. He continues to Love when man betrays Him and rejects Him. His two-edged sword (Heb.4:12), of Judgement and Mercy cuts both ways: Mercy for those who Love Him and Judgement for those who don't. Yes, our Commander knows very well, what it feels like to "Choose to Love, even when it hurts!" His Love goes on through every one of these 68 verses; the last 53 show us how to keep on loving even when it hurts our heart.
Stand fast in your Choice to Love your Commander, my fellow Warrior! His Grace is always Sufficient and your Growth into His likeness is assured - when you Choose to Love God Supremely, and your fellow man equally. Ooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
