Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“Meeting God on the Mountain”
Text: Exodus 19:11
“And let them be ready for the third day. For on the third day the LORD will come down upon Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people.”
“Meeting God on the Mountain,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
Israel met God at the bottom of Mount Sinai from a distance marked out by boundaries. Israel received the law and the covenant of mercy here.
We, as New Testament Warriors, come to Mount Zion to receive the New Covenant of Grace and Mercy.
Mount Sinai was fear and terror; Mount Zion is love and forgiveness.
Mount Sinai had guilty men in fear; Mount Zion has just men made perfect in Jesus Christ.
Mount Sinai had Moses as the mediator with God -
Mount Zion has Jesus Christ as our Mediator and High Priest!
“For you have not come to the mountain that may be touched and that burned with fire, and to blackness and darkness and tempest,
and the sound of a trumpet and the voice of words, so that those who heard it begged that the word should not be spoken to them anymore.
(For they could not endure what was commanded: “And if so much as a beast touches the mountain, it shall be stoned or shot with an arrow.”
And so terrifying was the sight that Moses said, “I am exceedingly afraid and trembling.”)
But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels,
to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect,
to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.”(Heb.12:18-24)
Oh Hallelujah Warrior!
“Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus,
by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh,
and having a High Priest over the house of God,
let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” (Heb.10:19-24).
Aaah Yes, let’s Meet God on the Mountain every day for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner! Ooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
Jesus and Billy
