Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“Obedient Servant Leadership”
Text: Judges 4:8
“And Barak said to her, “If you will go with me, then I will go; but if you will not go with me, I will not go!”
“Obedient Servant Leadership,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning. God’s Plan for Mankind is based upon Partnership. He always does His part, Keeping His promises of Love, Grace, and Mercy. Our Part is to Obey Him and to Practice Servant Leadership. A Servant Leader is one who leads others the way God leads them; modeling the Life of Jesus Christ.
Yes, our Commander Jesus Christ was the Perfect Obedient Servant Leader:
“Then Jesus said to them, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things.
And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.” (John 8:28-29).
Deborah obeyed God as the first and only female Judge in Israel’s history, which was no small thing in a male dominated culture. She served God as a Prophetess and Judge for Israel; and spoke as the Mouth of God. Barak recognized this and insisted that she go with him to lead the battle against Sisera. In essence Barak is saying: “if God’s Presence does not go with me, I’m not leaving here!” Moses in effect said the same thing:
“Then he said to Him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.” (Exod.33:15).
Marching into Battle as an Obedient Servant Leader, under the Shadow of the Almighty God of all Creation, brings great boldness and confidence to the Warrior.
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.” (Psa.91:1-2)
Victory is Won before the Fight begins, because Almighty God is With Us! Ooooh Rah!
Let Sisera bring his 900 or 90,000 chariots of iron, let him bring millions of soldiers; the Obedient Servant Leader marches behind their Commander and there are no enemy survivors, “not a man was left!” (v.16)
“A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.” (Psa.91:7-8).
The Life of the Warrior is a life of Obedient Servant Leadership. We Learn this by following in His footsteps and sitting at His feet daily, in His Word.
We Practice this through the instruction and empowerment of our Helper, Holy Spirit, in our daily life. Ooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
