Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“One Body of Many Members”
Text: Numbers 4:49
“According to the commandment of the LORD they were numbered by the hand of Moses, each according to his service and according to his task; thus were they numbered by him, as the LORD commanded Moses.”
“One Body of Many Members,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning. These words imply “Teamwork.” Many Members of the Team working together in Unity as one Body.
God separated to Himself one body, the family of Levi, to care for His House, the Tabernacle, and His People, Israel.
Each person from 30 years old to 50 years old in the tribe of Levi, was Numbered, and Assigned a specific job to do. The Levites were One Body of Many Members.
When each person did their specific job the Tabernacle was well cared for and transported through the wilderness carefully and successfully. This was quite a job, especially for the smallest family Merari; who had the task of carrying the boards, pillars, sockets with all their furnishings. This metal of Gold, Silver, and Brass weighed nearly 19,000 pounds! Merari was the smallest family in Levi but contributed the greatest number of men 30-50 years old! They all did their job like all the other Levites, as Members of One Body of Service.
Our Commander Jesus has Numbered you and I, and Assigned you and I a specific job to do: “a plan of Good Works to walk in” (Eph.2:10). This “Plan” includes specific jobs to do in the Kingdom of God, our Family, our Local Church, and the World Community.
When you and I do our job, with the Power of Holy Spirit, the Body of Christ operates smoothly as One Body.
Paul describes this to the Church in Corinth:
“For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.
For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.
For in fact the body is not one member but many.” (1Corin.12:12-14).
We are Numbered individually as Members of the Body of Christ and God Assigns each of us a task and gifts to help us complete of assigned task.
We don’t assign ourself the gifts we want, because we know that God assigns us the Perfect and Best Gifts that we need. That’s why we ‘earnestly desire the best gifts,” the gifts that God Himself gives to you and I.
“Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.
And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.
Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles?
Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?
But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.” (1Corin.12:27-31)
Listen up Warrior! Earnestly desire the Greatest Gift of God’s Perfect Love. With God’s Love working in you, and the Gifts He has chosen for you and I individually, we will accomplish our assigned task well, strengthen the Body of Christ, leave a godly legacy for our family, leave an example of godliness to our church, and leave our mark of faithfulness on eternity.
We Are One Body of Many Members Bound Together In God’s Love! Oooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
