Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(Ruth 3 & 4)
“Our Kinsman Redeemer”
Text: Ruth 3:12
“Now it is true that I am a close relative; however, there is a relative closer than I.”
“Our Kinsman Redeemer,” Himself, is on our menu for Breakfast this morning. Oh what glorious Truth this is for us to chew on and consider this morning. Our Commander and King IS Our Kinsman Redeemer. Others may be ‘close relatives,’ “however there is One that is closer than all others!” Our Commander, Son of Man and Son of God, Jesus Christ Our Kinsman Redeemer.
“Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,” (Heb.2:14)
“Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.” (Heb.2:17)
“But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.” (Heb.10:12-14).
Therefore we can see the story of Ruth as the story of Our Kinsman Redeemer.
Ruth’s declaration of love for Naomi and “Naomi’s True God,” led Ruth to the feet of her kinsman redeemer Boaz. Our selfish heart broken by God’s Perfect Love led you and I to the feet of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ - Our Kinsman Redeemer.
At His feet we found Rest in Faith, like Ruth; in the Assurance of the Promise of our Kinsman Redeemer:
“For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation,
having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace,
and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.” (Eph.2:14-16).
The fruit of Ruth and Boaz was Obed, whose name means “worshipper.” Obed’s grandson King David was known as “a man after God’s heart, and the “sweet psalmist of Israel.” This is also the fruit of a Warrior’s Life with their Commander; we are Worshippers of our Commander Jesus Christ! He IS Our Kinsman Redeemer! Ooooh Rah!
