Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(Lev.4:27 - 5:13)
"Owning My sin"
"And it shall be, when he is guilty in any of these matters, that he shall confess that he has sinned in that thing;"
"Owning my sin," is on the menu for Breakfast this morning. The Bible calls this 'confession,' of my guilt before God.
Sometimes we may be unaware of our sin, we may not have known something we said or did was sin; a sin of 'commission'. Maybe we did not do or say the truth when we should have; a sin of 'omission' (Lev.5:1).
Holy Spirit will convict our conscience, (John 16:7-15) make us aware of a sin of commission or omission - and we must "confess that sin specifically!" We must Own Our sin, or our sin will own us!"
In traffic court one is allowed to confess or plead their guilt with an excuse. "I didn't stop at the stop sign 'because:'
I was late for work,"
I could not see the sign,"
There were no other cars on the road."
Owning our sin is confessing, "yes God, You are right, I am guilty with no excuses. I said this/or didn't say what I should have said - or I did this/or did not do what I should have done, and it was wrong, and I genuinely repent of this wickedness."
When we try to blame others for our sin, we're trying to shift our guilt upon others; and our sin still owns us! We try to hide or re-define and justify our sin; and our sin still owns us and separates us from our Holy and Perfect Commander and King! Oooh Rah!
Listen up Warrior! Don't argue with your conscience. Your conscious is your Friend not your enemy. Holy Spirit is our Guide into all Truth (John 16:13). Confession without excuses is Quick and God's promise of Mercy and Forgiveness will then meet our confession and Restore our relationship to our Commander and King. (1John 1:9). He is both our Judge and our Sacrifice for our sin (John 1:29; 5:22).
Own your sin Warrior! Confess it, Repent from it, Learn from it, Hate it, and walk Clean with your Commander! Ooooh Rah!
