Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“Pride Comes Before a Fall”
Text: 1 Kings 1:5
“Then Adonijah the son of Haggith exalted himself, saying, “I will be king”; and he prepared for himself chariots and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him.”
This Principle that Pride Comes Before a Fall,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
Adonijah failed to learn the lesson of his older brother Absalom; and like His brother he fell into disgrace and death.
The Proverbs of Solomon warn us that:
“Pride goes before destruction,
And a haughty spirit before a fall.” (Prov.16:18).
In other words, “if you’re conceited and feel self-important; something will happen to make you look foolish!”
I’m sure that Solomon remembered his brothers Absalom and Adonijah when he wrote these Proverbs on Pride and Integrity:
“When pride comes, then comes shame;
But with the humble is wisdom.
The integrity of the upright will guide them,
But the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them.” (Prov.11:2-3).
The Shepherd’s Heart of King David kept him humble and small in his own eyes, and patient in waiting for God To Exalt him as King. Even with his failures in family discipline, David’s Shepherd Heart made him a man after God’s own heart, and kept him from the snare of pride.
Beware of this snare of pride Warrior. Practice your Core Values to Do Justly, Love Mercy, and Walk Humbly With Your God, Micah 6:8), at all times. Ooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
