Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“Pride comes before the fall”
Text: Numbers 16:3
“They gathered together against Moses and Aaron, and said to them, “You take too much upon yourselves, for all the congregation is holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them. Why then do you exalt yourselves above the assembly of the LORD?”
This Truth that “Pride comes before the fall,” is what’s on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
The Bible says:
“He who is often rebuked, and hardens his neck,
Will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.”(Prov.29:1)
Pride blinds a person from their sin and hardens their heart; leading them to ultimate destruction if they don’t confess and repent of it! This is a favorite weapon of choice for the devil; and he’s dragged many to destruction with it!
This is what happened to Korah and his followers.
This was the third National rebellion against Moses; the golden calf at Mt Sinai, the rejection of God’s Command to possess their land of promise, and now Korah’s direct challenge to Moses authority.
In spite of these two previous rebukes rebellion is still in the camp. Korah and his followers have seen God’s judgement for rebellion twice and still choose to rebel against God and Moses.
Their hearts were hardened to the point where the bondage and suffering in Egypt was now a land of milk and honey! (v.13). This is shocking! Yet this is how the Pride filled heart sees sin; their promised land…..
There was no other remedy but utter destruction for Korah and his followers.
Our take away lesson from Korah is to never let our heart become hard.
A humble heart has no room for pride because it is full of gratefulness! When Holy Spirit convicts you and I of sin we confess and repent of it immediately! Remember your rules of engagement Warrior - kill sin upon contact with confession and repentance! Ooooh Rah!
