Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“Rehearsing the Wonders of God”
Text: Lev. 23:2
“Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘The feasts of the LORD, which you shall proclaim to be holy I convocations, these are My feasts.”
“Rehearsing the Wonders of God,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning. This is what Israel did during these ‘Feasts of the Lord.’ It was called a ‘holy convocation.’ Convocation means an formal assembly of people. Common Convocations today are Wedding and Graduation ceremonies. These feasts of the Lord were ‘holy convocations’ to Rehearse and Remember the Wonderful Works of God. What a great time of celebration this must have been.
Our gatherings today as Believers in the presence of God - are holy convocations. This is why Jesus builds His Church, to remember and rehearse the wonderful works of God. That’s why we don’t forsake the assembling of ourselves together, to stir up love, good works, and encourage each other (Heb.10:24-25). We have special convocations of Passover in April to celebrate our Commander’s victory over death, hell and the grave. In December we celebrate His birth in the convocation of Christmas. Regularly, we celebrate the convocation of Holy Communion to rehearse and remember His Body and Blood that He gave to set us free from the bondage and doom of sin.
Every time we share our personal testimony of what God has done in our life - is a holy convocation, a public declaration of the wonderful works of God in our life! Oooh Rah!
Listen up Warrior! Our life is meant to be a continuous demonstration ‘a convocation’ of the wonderful works of God. We’re His Letter known and read by all mankind (2Corin.3:2-3). We’re His Love that people see in our love for others (John 16:35). We celebrate His life in us by serving others as though we are serving Him! (Col. 3:17,23).
This is how we Rehearse and Remember the wonderful works of God in us. Ooooh Rah!
