Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(Deuteronomy 23:9 - 24:22)
“Remembering Egypt’s Slavery”
Text: Deuteronomy 24:17-18
“You shall not pervert justice due the stranger or the fatherless, nor take a widow’s garment as a pledge.
But you shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and the LORD your God redeemed you from there; therefore I command you to do this thing.”
“Remembering Egypt’s Slavery,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
God is commanding Israel to remember their years of slavery and God’s compassion and deliverance from their bondage.
If they would remember their hopelessness as a stranger in Egypt, and God’s compassion on them and deliverance from their hopelessness, then they would be more compassionate and fair with others.
In other words, we should do to others what God has done for you and I; “love them as God has always loved us, showing compassion and relief for others.
“This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”(John 15:12).
You and I were once strangers of God, locked up in the bondage of sin, and without hope in this world.
Paul said it this way:
“that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.”(Eph.2:12-13).
Oh Hallelujah! This reminds me of another favorite song of mine.
“When I think of the goodness of Jesus
And all He’s done for me
My soul cries out HALLELUJAH,
I thank God for saving me
Oh I thank God for saving me
I thank God for saving me.
My soul cries out HALLELUJAH
I thank God for saving me…..”
Oh Hallelujah, I praise God for His Gift of Holy Spirit in me, Who brings to my remembrance the Words He has said to me and all the wondrous works that God has done in my life.
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”(John 14:26).
Every time you share your testimony with someone you are reminded of what God has done in your life; this s one reason why we should share our personal testimony with others frequently. This helps you and Remember Egypt’s Slavery and God’s Love and Compassion on us.
Let’s do for others what God has done for us; love them and serve them with compassion. Ooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
