Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“Remembering the Cost of Relationship”
Text: Exodus 38:1
“He made the altar of burnt offering of acacia wood; five cubits was its length and five cubits its width—it was square—and its height was three cubits.”
“Remembering the Cost of Relationship,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
Yesterday we saw the Blessing from God’s Presence and today we see the Cost that our Commander and King paid so that you and I could enjoy an intimate relationship with Him.
The materials are symbolic in this furniture:
the wood; represents you and I
the Gold; represents God’s Holiness
the Bronze; represents God’s Judgement
The Silver; represents God’s Redemption.
I noticed that the Most Holy Place of God’s Presence was all covered with Gold. Wood (you and I) covered with Gold (God’s Holiness). I saw that the Holy Place had no gold, just Bronze (Judgement), and Silver (Redemption).
In order to enter into the Presence of God (Gold) we must deal first with God’s Judgement of sin (Bronze) and God’s Redemption (Silver).
The Altar of Burnt Offering pictured The Judgement of God for our sin that was satisfied by Jesus’ Perfect Life given as Son of Man on a wooden cross. The altar was made of wood (you and I) and covered with Bronze (God’s Judgement).
This pictures Jesus taking our Judgement for our sin.
The Laver of Bronze and it’s base were made from bronze mirrors , and filled with water. As the priests washed in this Laver they saw their reflection and their need for cleansing and purification before God. You and I see Jesus cleansing us by the washing of the Word of God, and are reminded of our desperate need for this cleansing every day.
“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,
that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.”(Eph.5:25-27).
Lastly, the pillars of the tabernacle were made of wood (you and I) rested in Bronze sockets, (God’s Judgement) and were connected together with hooks and bands of Silver (God’s Redemption).
In summary, The Burnt Offering of the Perfect Sinless Life, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ is what gives access to the Throne of Yahweh in the Holy of Holies!
The Bronze Laver reminds us of our need to have Jesus cleanse and purify us by washing us with His Word. We need the blood of atonement and the water of the Word to enter the Presence of our King - each and every day.
We need to Rehearse and Remember The Cost of Relationship with God…
Our Commander and King gave His Life and You and I give our Life as a Living Sacrifice holy and acceptable to Him (Rom.12:1).
This is The Cost of Relationship with God. Ooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
