Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“Resting In His Work”
“Speak also to the children of Israel, saying: Surely My Sabbaths you shall keep, for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the LORD who sanctifies you.”
The eternal principle of “Resting in His Work” is on our menu this morning for Breakfast. The Sabbath Day, the 7th Day of the week, is set aside as Holy. This is for us to cease from our normal works and consider God’s work which sanctifies, or sets us apart as His holy people.
As I chewed on this Word this morning I was considering the Sabbath as “a sign between mankind and God” in our text. The Sabbath is a physical sign with a Spiritual application.
The Tabernacle itself and all the furnishings and sacrifices were physical signs and symbols of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. I saw that there was also a spiritual context of Ceasing from our works and efforts to be righteous - and Resting, depending upon the Work Jesus has done on the Cross, and is doing in my Surrendered life every day. There remains a rest for the people of God Heb.4:9-10).
The Sabbath was not only the 7th day of the week - it is also to be “every day throughout eternity,” as a perpetual covenant. The Rest of God is for eternity. I don’t know if we will have weeks and years in eternity, but we will have day and night. And every day we will Rest in our Commander’s work on the Cross and in our Surrendered life.
Sadly, there are some who will choose not to enter God’s Rest because of unbelief, and they will die because of their unbelief, because that profanes or defiles the Sabbath (Exod.31:14; Heb.3:18-19).
The Warrior enters into the Rest of God by Faith and Lives there forever! Ooooh Rah!
