Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“Separated By God”
Text: Exodus 9:4
“And the LORD will make a difference between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt. So nothing shall die of all that belongs to the children of Israel.” ’ ”
“Separated by God,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
As God’s people you and I are “in” this world but we’re no longer “of” this world. The Lord has “made a difference between you and I and the people of this world - You and I are Separated By God. Jesus prayed to His Father for for you and I:
“They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” (John 17:16,17).
Our Commander Jesus Christ commands us:
“…. Come out from among them
And be separate, says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean,
And I will receive you.”
“I will be a Father to you,
And you shall be My sons and daughters,
Says the LORD Almighty.” (2Corin.6:17).
The Bible calls this Sanctification which means “separated from a common purpose (the world) for a holy purpose (the Kingdom of God).
This is what God is doing with Israel this morning. He is making a difference between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt; Israel’s livestock will live and Egypt’s livestock will die.
God prepared a place for Israel in Egypt, the land of Goshen; where He Separated and made a difference between Israel and Egypt. They were “in” Egypt but Israel was not “of” Egypt. So the plagues fell upon Egypt, but not in Goshen!
God has also “prepared” a place for you and I here in this world “His Hand.” God holds His People In His Hand and no one or nothing can ever take you and I as His son and daughter out of His Hand:
“And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.”(John 10:28,29).
This doesn’t mean that we will not suffer and hurt in this world, we will! Yet this suffering and affliction will meet God’s Grace and Mercy in His Hand where we live! Hallelujah!
This is one way that “God makes me lie down in the green pastures,” of His Hand, and “prepares a table before me in the presence of my enemies,” in His Hand. Actually I believe the entire Psalm 23 takes place in the Hand of God. He carries you and I as His son and daughter through our journey in this world all the way Home to Heaven.
Because You and I have Chosen to Surrender our Life to Jesus Christ and Place our Life in His Hand as a living sacrifice to Him (Rom.12:1-2) -
You and I are Separated By God from death to Life! Ooooh Rah!
