Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
“Separating us from our uncleanness”
Text Leviticus 15:31
“Thus you shall separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness, lest they die in their uncleanness when they defile My tabernacle that is among them.”
Separating us from our uncleanness,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
The bodily discharges of blood and semen are unavoidable; they are reminders of our fallen nature of spiritual uncleanness. God provided rules for cleansing these unavoidable “discharges;” self-quarantine and separation from others until the discharges stopped. The person would then wait seven days and then bring their offering to the priest of two turtle doves or two pigeons.
Today, we know these rules of sanitation and hygiene well for physical unavoidable discharges caused by viruses; vomiting and diarrhea. However there are also unavoidable discharges of a spiritual nature that make us unclean. A harsh and hurtful word spoken in a moment of anger or hurt; or words spoken in innocence but misunderstood by the other person as hurtful.
God has a remedy for this uncleanness that will “separate us from our uncleanness:” Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior!
He came into the world by water and blood (1John 5:6).
He cleanses and washes us with the water of His Word:
“How can a young man cleanse his way?
By taking heed according to Your word.”(Psa.119:9)
He cleanses and washes us in His blood as “The Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29).
We must Apply what He has Provided for us. We do this by confession and repentance; making things right with God and making things right with others.
This is how our Commander Jesus Christ separates you and I from our uncleanness of these unavoidable discharges from our body. He Provides the Remedy but you and I must Apply His Remedy to our Life!
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1John 1:9).
