Good Morning Warrior!
Hallelujah! It’s The Lord’s Day!
Word for the Day:
“Staying Holy in an Unholy World”
Text: Leviticus 10:1-2
“Then Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered profane fire before the LORD, which He had not commanded them.
So fire went out from the LORD and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.”
“Staying Holy in an Unholy World,” is what’s on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
Nadab and Abihu knew better than to offer profane fire before the Lord. They had been taught by their Moses and their father Aaron of the proper way to approach the Holiness of God; yet they still committed this sin. How could this happen? In God’s response we can reason that Nadab and Abihu were drunk with wine and filled with pride of their honorable position as sons of Aaron the High Priest (v.3,8-11).
Nadab and Abihu had slipped from their holiness before God, “by failing to distinguish between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean.”(v.10).
They had great “spiritual experiences” of God’s deliverance from Egypt, God’s presence and voice at Mount Sinai (Exod.24), and the visible pillar of fire by night, and pillar of cloud by day leading the people; yet in spite of all these spiritual experiences they still fell from their holiness before God.
This shows you and I that even a personal history of great spiritual experiences with God will keep a person Holy in an Unholy World. There must be a continual abiding in the Lord.
Our Commander Jesus Christ teaches you and I this Truth of Abiding in Him as the True Vine (John 15:1-10).
In other words our holiness (as a branch) flows like sap from the Holy True Vine of our Commander; this is our “continual abiding in the Lord.”
Our Daily Prayer, keeping our Dates with Jesus for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, and applying His instruction to our daily life, and by walking in the light with Him is how we Stay Holy the in an Unholy World.
In spite of sin you and I can “Stay Holy in an Unholy World,”
through “Obedience to God’s Word,” and confession and repentance of sin!
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”(1John 1:9).
Our Commander and King Jesus Christ and our Helper Holy Spirit will help you and I Stay Holy in an Unholy World. Oooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
Jesus and Billy
