Good Morning Warrior!
Word for the Day:
(1 Kings 4& 5)
“Stewards of a Sacred Trust”
Text: 1 Kings 4:29
“And God gave Solomon wisdom and exceedingly great understanding, and largeness of heart like the sand on the seashore.”
“Stewards of a Sacred Trust,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning. “God gave Solomon wisdom and exceedingly great understanding, and largeness of heart like the sand on the seashore.” All these gifts came from the greatest gift, Wisdom. Wisdom is to fear God, yet that’s not all; we must Act upon the Fear of God and depart from evil - this is Understanding:
“And to man He said,
‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom,
And to depart from evil is understanding.’ ”(Job 28:28).
Solomon received these gifts from God; Wisdom, Understanding, and largeness of heart. These gifts were given as a Sacred Trust to manage for God’s Glory. Solomon was the Steward of a Sacred Trust.
So are we! Our Commander has given you and I a Sacred Trust to manage: Wisdom; which is the Gospel of Jesus Christ - and Understanding; which is a plan of good works to walk in and deliver the Gospel to the world.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
not of works, lest anyone should boast.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”(Eph.2:8-10).
In the beginning Solomon did well as a Steward of this Sacred Trust, because he walked humbly with God, depending totally on God for wisdom and understanding. However, as time passed, little compromises in his Stewardship eroded his faithfulness; multiplying horses, multiplying wives, and multiplying silver and gold For himself. The Law regarding the conduct of kings was clear:
“you shall surely set a king over you whom the LORD your God chooses; one from among your brethren you shall set as king over you; you may not set a foreigner over you, who is not your brother.
But he shall not multiply horses for himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt to multiply horses, for the LORD has said to you, You shall not return that way again.’
Neither shall he multiply wives for himself, lest his heart turn away; nor shall he greatly multiply silver and gold for himself.
“Also it shall be, when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write for himself a copy of this law in a book, from the one before the priests, the Levites.
And it shall be with him, and he shall read it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the LORD his God and be careful to observe all the words of this law and these statutes,
that his heart may not be lifted above his brethren, that he may not turn aside from the commandment to the right hand or to the left, and that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his children in the midst of Israel.”(Deut.18:15-20).
Listen up Warrior! All Warrior’s will be held accountable for the Sacred Trust delivered to them.
The Word of God is a critical part of this Sacred Trust. By daily reading, meditating upon, and practicing the Word of God in our life we learn to fear God, Keep His Commandments, and Complete our Mission.
All that we have has been given to us to manage for God’s glory and to complete our Mission, which is “To Know God and To Make Him Known by others.” We are Stewards of a Sacred Trust. Ooooh Rah!
Warrior at your side,
