Good Morning Warrior!
It’s The Lord’s Day, Celebration Sunday!
Word for the Day:
(1 Chron. 13 & 14)
“Taking Care of Holy Things”
“Then the anger of the LORD was aroused against Uzza, and He struck him because he put his hand to the ark; and he died there before God.”
“Taking Care of Holy Things,” is on our menu for Breakfast this morning.
We take very good care of those things that are precious to us; our relationship with God, and our family.
God gave Israel specific instructions on taking care of His Ark in Numbers 4:15:
“And when Aaron and his sons have finished covering the sanctuary and all the furnishings of the sanctuary, when the camp is set to go, then the sons of Kohath shall come to carry them; but they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die.
“These are the things in the tabernacle of meeting which the sons of Kohath are to carry.”
This tells us that the proper Care for the Holy Ark was for the sons of Kohath to carry the covered Ark on their shoulders, using poles inserted through the rings on the four corners of the Ark. This way they would not touch the Holy Ark of God’s Presence.
By “putting out his hand to the Ark,” unholy touched the Holy and death was the result.
Bringing back the Ark to Jerusalem was a good idea but the method used to do this Dishonored God’s Law and brought death to Uzza.
This same Ark of God that brought Life and Blessing to the Obedient and Faithful also brought death and judgement to the Disobedient and Unfaithful.
How do we Take Care of Holy Things like, our Relationship with God, His Written Word, and His Presence in our Life? These “Holy Things” are priceless and they should be “carried by us in our heart, mind, and soul.”
Making time to meet with our Commander for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner each day blends our Relationship with Him and His Written Word, and His Presence in our Life together. This is how We Are Taking Care of Holy Things. This is how we Guard and Value the Precious Treasure of God’s Presence in our Life. Ooooh Rah!
